Same room as the kid’s room but made for a grown-up. It’s a 3D rendering, not AI.

Wall A: I used a full size bed and 2 smaller nightstands. I like putting the bed on this wall because the outlet is on this wall.

Wall B: You can also try your bed here. The problem is the nightstands don’t sit in the right place. You could try two small round tables with pendant lights or sconces to save table space.

Wall C: This wall has a covered radiator so I can’t fit the bed plus nightstands here. With a window, the TV has to sit on the dresser.

Wall D: I pushed the wardrobe to the right and back so it’s flush with the wall. This gives a nice clear walkway into the room. Since this is a rental, I just have to figure out a door for privacy. Maybe hang a curtain? Not sure yet.

This is the original room.

Wall A: Built around 1930, these “three decker” rentals are usually lacking outlets. This room has just two. I didn’t want to use extension cords so I put the desk close to the outlet. This desk has built-in outlets so no having to move furniture to find one.

Wall B: Typically the focal point of the room, and where you’d put the bed. Since this room doesn’t have a door, I put the bed on another wall. On this wall I used a console with doors to hide the boy’s toys. Add books and toys on top for decor.

Wall C: For privacy while sleeping I tucked the bed in the corner.

Wall D: This room has built-in shelves with decorative openings into the next room. I used large canvas art to cover the openings. And added a wardrobe since the room has no natural closet.

Arial view: A round coffee table in the center gives the kids a surface to play Jenga on. You can use an ottoman or floor pillows. Or they can just sit on the floor like most kids do.

This is the original room. Many landlords opt to close off the opening with drywall to add to the bedroom size.
